The Maui County Council takes up second and final reading of the budget today.

The FY 2014 budget unanimously passed first reading on May 28, 2013.

The council’s version of the budget is $559 million—that’s $14 million less than what was proposed by the mayor.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the council chambers.
