Red Cross Seeking Disaster Volunteers in Hāna

The American Red Cross, Maui Chapter is seeking volunteers in the East Maui community of Hāna to assist in damage assessment following local disaster situations.

To become a volunteer, interested individuals can register online for a series of upcoming basic disaster training classes being offered free of charge during the month of August.

Individuals must attend the entire series to become an agency volunteer.

The training series will be held at the Hāna Community Center, located at 5091 Uakea Road, at the following times:

  • Friday, August 2, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.: Disaster Services, An Overview
  • Saturday, August 3,  8:30 to 11 a.m.: Shelter Fundamentals,
  • Saturday, August 3,  12 to 3:30 p.m.: Disaster Assessment Basics,
  • Sunday, August 4, 12 to 3:30 p.m.: Disaster Action Team, An Orientation
