45 People Remained at Maui Shelters Overnight

All Red Cross Shelters on Maui are now closed after the passage of Tropical Depression Flossie.

Some of the shelters that were open overnight on Maui were closed at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 including:  the Kilohana Community CenterLānaʻi High School, Hannibal Tavares Community Center in Pukalani, and Molokaʻi High School.

As of midnight on Monday, there were 22 people seeking shelter at War Memorial Gym, 11 at Kamaliʻi Elementary; 8 at the Lahaina Civic Center, and 4 at Hāna High School, said officials with the Hawaiʻi Red Cross.

Those four shelters were scheduled to close at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
