Kahana Grill, located in the Kahana Gateway Shopping Center at the former Roy’s location, permanently closed their doors last week.

A spokesperson for the restaurant stated, “It is with great sadness and regret that we must announce that Kahana Grill closed for business on August 1, 2013.

“Kahana Grill wishes to extend a sincere mahalo to all of our friends (near and far), patrons, vendors, staff and the Maui community for all of the support and aloha that was given to us during our time of operation in the Kahana neighborhood. Your loyalty, patronage, encouragement and aloha spirit sustained us and brought to us a true sense of ohana while we were in business.

“A special mahalo goes out to every member of our talented crew for all of their hard work, dedication and energy. We wish all of you well, and will miss you all.”

The restaurant opened last December and featured a 33-foot Hawaiian outrigger canoe, “KAHANA,” positioned across the dining room ceiling.
