The survey is being conducted by the County of Maui Department of Planning in an effort to determine how Wailuku town can best evolve into a downtown core of commerce, culture and entertainment.

The goal for the project area is to create an effective, market-based plan to retain, grow and attract high-quality development, as well as appropriate businesses and new investment to the Wailuku Redevelopment Area.

Funding for the Wailuku Market-Based Plan is provided by a grant through Tri-Isle RC&D from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the Maui Redevelopment Agency, the County of Maui Office of Economic Development and private donors.
