Kea Lani Raises $22,000 for Typhoon Haiyan Relief

Employees a The Fairmont Kea Lani, raised more than $22,000 for Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts in the Philippines.
The hotels 650 employees more than doubled their goal of raising $10,000 by Thanksgiving Day through a giant garage sale, and smaller fundraising efforts, hotel representatives said.
“I am incredibly proud of our motivated and generous employees,” said Charles Head, general manager of the resort in a company press release.
“It goes to show what a difference we can make when we all pull together for a common goal.”
The funds were presented in the form of a check to the American Red Cross.
Michele Liberty, Maui County Director for the American Red Cross also released a statement saying, “Our hearts go out to the people of the Philippines at this time of great tragedy. We are incredibly grateful to The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui for giving strength to our humanitarian efforts. We want to thank everyone involved for their wonderful contribution to the cause of humanity.”
This coming holiday season, the hotel will continue its charitable efforts within the community by hosting Maui’s kupuna, and donating hot turkey dinners to the Women Helping Women shelter, as well at the South Maui Police, Fire and Paramedic departments.
