County Offers Instructor Training for Older Adults’ Fitness Program

The Maui County Office on Aging announced it will offer an EnhanceFitness Instructor Training for older adults in February 2014.

The award-winning program is reportedly designed to be safe and effective for seniors with a wide range of physical abilities.

Classes meet three times a week for hour-long sessions, at various locations around the county with fitness assessments conducted on a regular basis.

“To be eligible for the instructor training, new instructors must already be certified by a nationally recognized fitness organization such a ACSM, ACE, AFAA or the YMCA, and have a current CPR/AED card,” the announcement said.

A 12-hour training session is scheduled at the Kaunoa Senior Center on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, Feb. 7 from 5 to 9 p.m., and
  • Saturday, Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
