The decision to move the race to Kahului was made this morning after receiving the necessary approvals for change in venue. The anticipated start time will likely be at 11 a.m., according to organizers.

Currently canoes and hundreds of paddlers are in motion from one side of the island going to the other.

The race was originally scheduled for Hanakaʻōʻō in Lahaina, but was moved to Ka Lae Pōhakuin Kīhei earlier in the week due to adverse ocean conditions. The latest change in venue to Kahului Harbor was made after assessing the ocean conditions this morning.
