Maui Electric Aerial Line inspections: March 20-21, 26

Maui Electric Company will be using a helicopter to perform routine power line inspections today and tomorrow on Maui.

Aerial inspections today (Thursday, March 20) will cover the south and west Maui areas from Mā‘alaea to Wailea and Mā‘alaea to Nāpili.

On Friday, March 21, inspections will head to central and east Maui, covering the area from Kahului to Hāna and Haleakalā to Pu‘unēnē.

Maui Electric will do similar aerial inspection work on Lāna‘i and Moloka‘i next week Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

The company says the inspections are routine and necessary to maintain stable and reliable electric service. The work includes checks on company equipment, electrical lines, poles and substations.

Inspections are weather permitting, and are scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on specified dates.
