In celebration of Hospital Week on Maui, the Maui Memorial Medical Center will host a special screening of the film “Ola-Health is Everything,” at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14.

Prior to the screening, the dietary team at the hospital will also be serving “farm-to-table” dishes, prepared with locally grown produce, from 5 to 6 p.m.

The film is described as “an eye-opening feature length documentary that explores factors that affect health other than genetic predisposition and individual behavior.”

Organizers say the documentary “highlights the power of communities to heal, how society must re-examine what it means to be healthy, and showcases individuals who bring hope to communities across Hawaiʻi.”

The film premiered in the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival in April 2013, and is directed by Matthew Nagato, who will be on hand for a question and answer session after the screening, organizers said.
