Life in Kahului was returning to normal after an overnight tsunami warning that forced the evacuation of low-lying areas. The National Weather Service recorded a record 0.22 inches of rainfall in Kahului on Monday, June 23, 2014.  That breaks the old record of 0.07 inches set for the same day in 1996.

The agency forecast for today calls for scattered showers, and highs near 88 degrees in Kahului.

The National Weather Service is forecasting sunny and clear skies over the next four days, Friday through Monday.
