Some customers in the Wailuku Industrial Area will have no water on Wednesday, Sept. 3, while contractors work to change a water lateral on Alua Street, according to a Department of Water Supply Announcement.

The project is scheduled to run from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., and will only affect customers on Alua Street from Hoʻokahi Street to Kolu Street.

Department officials say work will be limited to the side of the road, so traffic should not be affected.

Affected customers are advised to store water for the evening if needed, and flush their waterlines for a short time after the project concludes to ensure that no sediment has accumulated in their waterlines.

Customers can also call the 24-hour service line at (808) 270-7633 only if a water emergency occurs.
