The intersection at Papa and Lono Avenue near Maui High School in Kahului will be closed starting Friday, Sept. 26, and will reopen at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014.

Contractors with Maui Master Builders in conjunction with the County of Maui will be working on the intersection as part of an ongoing road reconstruction project along portions of Papa Avenue.

Motorists are advised to use caution and follow all traffic control signs, devices and flagmen while driving through work zones.

Various stages of the project stretch along Papa Avenue between Kaʻahumanu and Puʻunēnē Avenues.

Maui Master Builders submitted a low bid for the project in November 2013, according to Building Industry Magazine.

The company began work on Aug. 25 for the section of road between Makaliʻi Street and Hina Avenues.  Since then, resurfacing was conducted aslo conducted on Papa Avenue from Hina and Kahiki Street, and Papa Avenue from Kea to One Street.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and drive with caution in the latest road work area.
