Kēōkea Homestead Open Market Seeks Produce, Craft Vendors

Organizers of the Kēōkea open market are seeking vendors for three upcoming events this year.

Vendors are invited to sign up for the Kēōkea Homestead Open Market, scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays, Oct. 26, Nov. 16, and Dec. 21, 2014.

The open market events come on the heels of a successful Labor Day weekend Kēōkea Hoʻolauleʻa, hosted by Upcountry homesteaders.

The Open Market will feature garden-fresh produce, crafts for holiday gift giving, food concessions and entertainment.

The nonprofit Kēōkea Homestead Farm Lots Association presents the events at the 16.9 Mile Marker of Kula Highway at Kaʻamana Street, a quarter-mile past Grandma’s Coffeehouse.

Prospective vendors may offer locally produced arts and crafts, such as original jewelry, ceramics, woodwork, photography, and artworks in watercolors, oils and mixed media. Other possible items include fresh and dried plants, flowers and crops, garden décor, quilt blankets, pillows, apparel, accessories, handmade soaps and garage-sale items.

The fee is $25 for a 10-by-10-foot space.  Vendors provide their own tent and tables. Organizers are limiting food booths to four 12-by-12-foot spaces only at $50 each on a first-come-first-served basis .
