Maui Police say a man was arrested and released on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing a stolen vehicle at the Cavendish Golf Course on Lānaʻi on Sunday morning, Sept. 21, 2014.
The adult male suspect took the vehicle without permission from his neighbor, who is an acquaintance, said Maui Police Lieutenant William Juan.
Police say the suspect fell out of the vehicle where he sustained minor injuries. The vehicle continued rolling into some brush, and resulted in minimal damage at the golf course, according to police reports.
The suspect was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment, and was released the next day after it was determined that his injuries were not life threatening.
Police say the suspect returned to Lānaʻi where he was arrested and released pending further investigation.
