Maui Electric Aerial Line Inspections October 20-22

Maui Electric Company will be using a helicopter to perform routine power line inspections throughout Maui County this week.
Weather permitting, the company was expected to conclude aerial inspections on the outer islands of Lāna‘i and Moloka‘i on Monday, Oct. 20.
Inspections today are planned from Kahului to Hāna and Hāna up to Haleakalā.
If time and weather permits, inspections will also be conducted today from ‘Ulupalakua to Wailea, including Kīhei, and Mā‘alaea to Nāpili.
If the work is not completed today, inspections on Wednesday, Oct. 22, will include the area from ‘Ulupalakua to Wailea, including Kīhei, and Mā‘alaea to Nāpili.
All inspections are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on respective days.
A company spokesperson said dates and locations are subject to change due to weather.
According to the announcement, routine aerial inspections of Maui Electric’s equipment, including electrical lines, poles and substations, are necessary to maintain stable and reliable electrical service for the Maui County community.
