UPDATE, Jan. 9: 

The valve repair work at the intersection of Kea Street and Papa Avenue in Kahului has been postponed due to a break in a 12-inch main line on Ka‘ahumanu Avenue near O’Reilly Auto Parts Store in Maui Mall. Water will be shut off for businesses on Ka‘ahumanu Avenue from Pu‘unēnē Avenue to Hāna Highway, and on Pu‘unēnē Avenue from Ka‘ahumanu Avenue to Kamehameha Avenue from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Traffic will be impacted for motorists travelling east on Kaahumanu Avenue as only one lane will remain open.  Please drive with caution.

The Department of Water Supply will be replacing a broken water valve at the intersection of Kea Street and Papa Avenue in Kahului on Friday, Jan. 9.

Residents and businesses in the other areas of Kahului are asked to conserve water by avoiding any unnecessary water use on Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Call the 24-hour service line at 270-7633 if a water-related problem occurs or if there are any questions.

Water will be shut off in the following areas:

  • Kea Street between Maui Lani and Kaiemi Street, including Pue Place, Ohu Place and Hone Street.
  • Holua Drive, between Papa Avenue and Kea Street, including all of Hilu Place, Pala Circle and Hue Place.
  • Papa Avenue, between Roselani Place and Maalo Street
  • All of Kunu Place
