Traffic accident on Haleakala Highway at Haliimaile Road takes down traffic signal

5:40 p.m. 9/12/10 All lanes of travel are open on Haleakala Hwy. Traffic signal repaired & functioning properly following vehicle accident.

Update: 3:30 p.m. 9/12/10 All lanes of travel are open on Haleakala Hwy. Entry onto Haliimaile Rd from Haleakala Hwy is blocked due to traffic signal repair in progress. Estimated time of closure is 2 hours.

Update: 1:30 p.m. 9/12/10 All lanes of travel are open on Haleakala Hwy. On Haliimaile, motorist are unable to exit Haliimaile and turn mauka, motorist may turn makai on to Halekala Hwy. Estimated time to be determined.

Update: 12:15 p.m. 9/12/10 Due to a motor vehicle accident, Haleakala Hwy is at a slow down. Police are directing traffic utilizing 1 lane in each direction. Motorist are unable to exit Haliimaile Rd onto Haleakala heading mauka. Estimated time to be determined.
