Dietitian Presenting Free Talk on ‘The Vegiterranean Diet’
Author and dietitian Julieanna Hever will present a free talk on the “Vegiterranean Diet” at the Kaunoa Senior Center in Pā‘ia on Mar. 12 at 7 p.m. Her presentation will discuss the global and historical benefits of the Mediterranean and vegan diet, drawing on the topic of her new book, “The Vegiterranean Diet.”
Hever debunks the myth that olive oil, fish, and red wine are the beneficial elements of Mediterranean cuisine, and instead attributes the benefits of the diet to whole food, plant-based ingredients and lifestyle factors using scientific findings.
The registered dietitian is the host of wellness talk show series–“What Would Julieanna Do?”–on Veria Living Network, and the author of numerous best-selling books on nutrition and healthy eating. She co-stars on “The Chef and The Dietitian,” has served as a clinical dietitian, consults for numerous organizations, and has appeared on many radio and TV shows.
