22 Graduate from MEO Entrepreneur Training; More Classes Offered

Twenty-two students graduated from the Core Four Business Planning course on Feb. 24, 2015, as part of the MEO Business Development Program. The graduation was held in Wailuku and attended by Maui County Council Member Gladys Baisa and Mayor Alan Arakawa’s representative, Joseph Pontanilla. Councilmember Baisa and Pontanilla spoke to the graduates about their own experiences in entrepreneurship and encouraged them to start their own businesses.

015 (1)The students received advice from local bankers and reviewed their business plans, providing guidance toward launching a successful business. The graduates also received a Certificate of Achievement and congratulations dinner.

The MEO’s Core Four Business Planning course is a 36-hour class covering how to write a business plan, start, operate and grow a business.

Three one-hour introductory classes will be offered to outline the course: Tuesday, Mar. 3 and Thursday, Mar. 5, from 6 to 7 p.m. at MEO’s Family Center, and also at the Maui County Business Resource Center on Wednesday, Mar. 4 from noon. to 1 p.m.

The full six-week course begins Tuesday, Mar. 10, and continues from 6 to 9 p.m. two days per week through April 21, 2015. Classes will be held at the MEO’s Family Center at 99 Mahalani St. in Wailuku. Registration is required.
