Maui Police confiscate $86,000 in Crystal Meth during Pukalani Drug bust

Maui Police have arrested a Pukalani man on drug charges after searching a vehicle and his home last week.  Tracy Ibara, 46, was arrested on Tuesday, October 12 when police executed a search warrant on a Ford Ranger pickup truck he was operating.

Authorities confiscated 287 grams of crystal methamphetamine or ice worth an estimated street value of more than $86,000, 17 grams of marijuana worth an estimated street value of $364, and more than $8,000 in cash.

Police also recovered $6,250 in cash from Ibara’s residence on Kaualani Drive in Pukalani.  Ibara was charged with Methamphetamine Trafficking I, Promoting a Detrimental Drug III, and Prohibited Acts Related to Drug Paraphernalia.  His total bail was set at $100,000.

A subsequent No Bail Warrant was issued for Ibara by the Hawaii Paroling Authority for a parole violation.  The arrest was the result of long-term investigation conducted by members of the Maui Police Department’s Vice Division.
