M*A*S*H-style clinics are large-scale spay-neuter clinics that are usually conducted outdoors under tents in order to accommodate a large volume of pets in surgery and recovery.

The Maui Humane Society will host four M*A*S*H clinics in five days with the goal of spaying and neutering up to 100 dogs per day. Two clinics will be held at the shelter, one at the Lahaina Cannery Mall, and one near Longs in Kulamalu.

These surgeries are conducted by licensed, professional veterinarians who are highly skilled at performing large numbers of high quality spays, neuters and zeuters (chemical neutering) in these settings.

Organizers are asking the public to donate towels “to keep our furry patients comfy during their surgery and recovery.” Drop off towels at the shelter Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Sunday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Maui Humane Society is located at 1350 Mehameha Loop in Pūʻūnene.
