Alexander & Baldwin Inc. today announced that Jenai Sullivan Wall, chairman and chief executive officer of Foodland Super Market Ltd., has been elected to its board of directors.

Wall replaces Jeffrey Watanabe, who, after 12 years of service, has reached the board’s mandatory retirement age of 72.

Wall has served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Foodland since 1998. 

Foodland is the state’s largest supermarket chain, which includes over 30 stores under the Foodland, Sack N Save and Foodland Farms brands.

Wall also serves as chief executive officer of the other entities that comprise the Sullivan Family of Companies, including Food Pantry Ltd., Kalama Beach Corporation, and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Hawaiʻi. Foodland and The Sullivan Family of Companies employ over 4,000 individuals.

Wall, 56, also serves as chair of ʻIolani School’s board of governors, and is a director of First Hawaiian Bank, Servco Pacific Inc. and the Queen’s Health System.

Wall earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Wellesley College and master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University.
