Driftwood Boutique Opens in Makawao
By Maui Now Staff
Makawao salon owner Carrie Gebb recently opened Driftwood, a women’s lifestyle boutique.
The newly renovated retail space features a carefully curated array of merchandise–women’s clothing, shoes, fine artisan jewelry and accessories, pillows, rugs, tableware, all-natural beauty products, teas and edibles, and unique gift items.
“I love fashion and home decor so much that I wanted to turn my hobby into a career,” said Gebb, who also owns the award-winning Paragon Salon just two doors down. “My aim is to help women look and feel their best and surround themselves with things they admire, making them feel confident and powerful.”
With an emphasis on local goods made in Hawaiʻi, Driftwood offers high-end local clothing brands such as Acacia Swimwear and Olympia Activewear; local jewelry and accessories by Pandeia and Almeria Design; and local food products from Maui Preserved, Adoboloco and Monkeypod Jam.
The boutique is located on the corner of Makawao Avenue and Ai Street at 1152 Makawao Ave., across from the public parking lot. The retail space was the former home of the Makawao History Museum and before that, the Randy Jay Braun Gallery.
The shop is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
