A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County channels (except the Kaiwi Channel) and Māʻalaea Bay through 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. East winds up to 25 knots are forecasted along with rough seas of 7 to 11 feet. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

North: Wave heights of about waist high are expected today as a swell builds. The best breaks could get up to chest/shoulder high by sundown. Trade swell holds in the waist/head high range for Hana.
West: Today surf is pretty flat for our west exposures.
South: Ankle/thigh high waves are expected today. The best breaks could get a little bigger on the sets.
A small mix of southerly swells brings small waves through Wednesday. Storm activity in the Tasman Sea could bring us swell later this week, starting Thursday and into the weekend. Another slightly larger swell is possible on Saturday, peaking early next week.
A new northwest pulse is expected to build later today with another on it’s heels for the weekend.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
