Whether you are a visitor or a resident, it is highly recommended that you spend some time exploring some of Maui’s best Upcountry farm tours.

Throughout the Island of Maui, there are an increasing number farm tours available to the public. When visiting the Upcountry areas of Maui, there is a pretty big variety of farm tours to experience.

While discovering all of the amazing beauty of Upcountry Maui, make some time to visit The Maui Farm, Aliʻi Kula Lavender Farm, OʻO Farm, Surfing Goat Dairy and the Ocean Vodka Organic Farm & Distillery.

The following are just a few of Maui’s favorite Upcountry tours… enjoy!

The Maui Farm

When in Makawao, check out The Maui Farm, a community-centered nonprofit that aims to provide farm based educational programs and life skills to those in need. At The Maui Farm, guests can take a tour with their awesome farm manager, Lisa Chakmak, and learn all about their mission, livestock, garden programs and more. Depending on the time of the year, you may even be able to see some baby goats or some piglets! This is a great activity for those interested in organic farming or a great Maui nonprofit to support. This is a great place to seek out Upcountry volunteer opportunities, even if you’re just on vacation.

Aliʻi Kula Lavender Farm

Aliʻi Kula Lavender Farm offers one of Maui’s favorite farm tours. The farm was founded by the late Aliʻi Chang, an agricultural horticulture master.Maui’s lavender farm enchants over 13 acres of prime Kula land. The view from this farm is truly unreal, one that you will look forward to visiting more than once!

At the Aliʻi Kula Lavender Farm, guests can peruse through over 55,000 lavender plants (45 different varieties). The grounds are impeccably maintained, and decorated with lovely gardens full of succulents, olive trees, Protea, Hydrangea and more exotic varieties.

Definitely check out their farm tours, and visit their boutique for lots of great goodies and lavender souvenirs. Pray to the universe that they haven’t sold out of their infamous Lavender Lemonade by the time you get there!

Oʻo Farm

Oʻo Farm is a super-cool, biodynamic organic Upcountry farm covering over eight acres. Two Maui surfing buddies started this farm in 2000. Not only does Oʻo Farms offer awesome farm tours for the public, but they also supply locally grown organic produce, herbs, coffee and flowers for a handful of Maui’s most popular fine dining establishments.

Two of Oʻo Farms most popular farm tours are the “Forage & Feast” Gourmet Lunch & Farm Tour, and the “Seed to Cup” Coffee Tour. Guests will definitely enjoy the panoramic island views from this sweet locale, and make sure to check into their wine dinners too!

Surfing Goat Dairy

Located in Lower Kula, Surfing Goat Dairy is Maui’s only gourmet cheese farm. For over nine years, Surfing Goat has been pushing the bar for their award-winning goat milk cheeses, gourmet goat cheese truffles, goats milk soaps and family-friendly Maui agricultural farm tours.

All kids love this farm tour, because they get to taste yummy treats and have a chance to feed the goats!

Surfing Goat Dairy offers the Casual Tour, Evening Chores & Milking Tour, the Grand Dairy Tour and a host of fun monthly events.

Ocean Vodka Farm & Distillery

Located on 80-acres in Kula, the Ocean Vodka Farm & Distillery is a beautiful labor of love created by three generations of a lovely Maui family. Ocean Vodka is a superior- organic, high-end vodka distilled on Maui.

Since its inception, Ocean Vodka has grown immensely in popularity because the product is amazing! Perfect straight or mixed, all mixology connoisseurs will surely love Ocean Vodka’s farm tours and events.

Farm tours at the Ocean Vodka Farm are seven days a week, every 30 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., excluding certain holidays.
