The Hope Fest Maui 2-Day Music Festival is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18 and 19 at the Maui Brewing Company brewery in Kīhei.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer’s Society’s Hope Lodge Hawai‘i.

In its inaugural year, Hope Fest Maui will raise money to fund the completion of Hope Lodge Hawai‘i, a home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers.

Hope Fest Maui was created by a dedicated group of volunteers and sponsors for the residents and visitors of Maui. Hope Fest will be anchored by an afternoon to evening stage concert on Saturday with renowned musical and performance acts.

The VIP & Sponsor Dinner will be held on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.

The all-day Hope Fest Maui Festival will be held on Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m., featuring 10 food trucks, 10 bands, local vendors and the “Fork Cancer” Food Competition. The “Fork Cancer” competition invites local chefs and food trucks to vie for the title of “Best-in-Fest” as determined by event guests.

The “Buy Out Cancer” market and auction will feature the best in local talent, all while raising funds for the work of ACS.

Soul Kitchen will perform on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 p.m. Soul Kitchen is acoustic-infused musical alchemy, blending the traditional genres of soul, blues, jazz, classic rock, Cajun zydeco, and Middle Eastern influences. Award-winning lead singer Tempa (Best Colorado Blues Band, Best Soul Album Award) and the sweetly exotic rhythms of guitarist Naor (Israeli Idol musical finalist) transport listeners to new realms of feeling and musical enjoyment. Four-part harmonies and interplay among the violins, saxophone, piano, upright bass and Cuban “cajón” drum complete the Soul Kitchen’s tapestry of musical flavors.
