“A life on wheels is a life lived well.”
So says Gypsy Maui, a food truck business that describes its style as “Old World charm with a modern twist.” You’ll have a chance to check it out on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Gypsy Maui Food Truck is holding a grand opening at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Maui Central Clubhouse, 100 Kanaloa Ave. in Kahului, across from War Memorial Stadium.
To help celebrate a business on wheels, there will be free roller derby, as Gypsy cheers what she calls her extended family: the Maui Rollergirls. As a thank-you to fans, they can enjoy face painting, treats and a special discounted menu for one night only. The event is free and family-friendly.
There will also be a chance to buy some exclusive Gypsy logo merchandise designed by Pink Plumeria, Petit Soleil and Hobocampcrafts, featuring artwork by Maui’s own Walraven.
According to Gypsy Maui Food Truck’s social media postings, the business is often parked outside Long’s Upcountry and has an “ever-changing menu,” which has included panini sandwiches, lasagna, waffles, apple berry cobbler, biscotti, smoothies, local coffee and breakfast to-go items.
