Maui OnStage Presents Comedy, ‘Noises Off’
Maui OnStage will present Noises Off, a classic British farce, Fridays through Sundays, Sept. 25 through Oct. 11, at the Historic ʻĪao Theater.
It is only hours before the opening of a British adult farce, Nothing On, and the touring company is hurriedly running through a final dress rehearsal in the Grand Theatre, Weston-Supe-Mare, before the first audience arrives in this play within a play.
Noises Off is set from a backstage perspective where everything that could go wrong in Nothing On does. This complicated comedy is best described as a rollercoaster, just get on, try not to think too much and enjoy the ride.
“Noises Off,” by Michael Frayn, is directed by Lisa Teichner. The play stars Dale Button, Beth Garrow, Lee Garrow, Ashlyn-Jade Aniban, Daniel Vicars, Kalani Whitford, Anthony James Rummel, Nicole Tokunaga and Jeanette Rucci.
“The most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy,” said The New York Times. “A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy well-known romp is a festival of delirium.”
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets range from $20 to $40.
