Maui Solar Project Asks Fair Goers to Imagine their Homes with Sun Power
The Maui Solar Project has launched a contest for fair goers, asking participants to imagine how solar would look on their home.
The drawing contest, for the young and young at heart, has already drawn hundreds of entries, company representatives said.
The Maui Solar Project will give away a free iPad Air to one winning entrant who draws their home with solar panels on their roof. Art entries will be on display throughout the weekend.
Maui Solar Project is a licensed installer for Sunpower Corporation, and designs and sells renewable energy systems fro residential and commercial applications.
Company representatives have set up a tent at the Maui Fair to show residents how to reduce their electric bills and gain energy independence.
The tent also features technology displays including a live demonstration of the Energizr, a hybrid off-grid battery system that can keep your lights on when the power goes out; and a virtual reality tour of the company’s solar system using an Occulus VR headset.
