INAUGURATION DAY: MAUI STYLE

MAUI DEMOCRATIC PARTY’S SPECIAL GATHERING TO WATCH THE INAUGURATION OF PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

There will be a number of celebrations on Maui on Tuesday to mark the inauguration Celebration for President-elect Barack Obama.  The Democratic Party of Maui begins the day with an inauguration viewing party at 6:30 a.m. at Charley’s Saloon & Restaurant in Paia.  Interested parties should call in advance to reserve a seat.

OBAMA OHANA INAUGURATION CELEBRATION AT MAUI TROPICAL PLANTATION

A separate Obama Ohana Inauguration Celebration will be held tomorrow night from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Maui Tropical Plantation.  The Event is $35 for dinner buffet and celebration.  Admission to the dancing from 7:30 p.m. is $20, with tickets at the door.  The event is presented by OmZone Maui and Green Maui Lifestyle.

PUNAHOU EARNS SPOT IN INAUGURAL PARADE

Students from President-elect Barack Obama’s High School alma-mater, Punahou School will appear at the start of the Inaugural Parade as more than 10,000 people from all 50 states march down Pennsylvania Avenue tomorrow.  The groups will follow the President and Vice President from the Capitol down the 1.5 mile route.  Starting off the parade will be Representatives from the U.S. Army, United States Military Academy & US Army Reserve.  They will be followed by the JROTC students from Punahou School and the Marching Band.
