Kīhei Public Library Offers Halloween-Themed Events

Kīhei Public Library will present five free programs in October in the Children’s Area.

Saturday, Oct. 24 · 10:30 a.m.
Spooky Science
The Maui Science Center will present a hands-on science and technology experience that will encourage exploration, investigation and wonder. This two-hour program is suitable for children ages 5 and older. The Kay A. Edwards Memorial Fund is sponsoring this program as well as the programs on Oct. 29 and 30.

Tuesday, Oct. 27 · 7 p.m.
Pajama Storytime 
Children ages 3 to 7 are invited to wear pajamas and fuzzy slippers, bring a favorite teddy bear, and enjoy an evening of Halloween-themed stories and fun.

Wednesday, Oct. 28 · 3 p.m.
Wonderful Wednesday: Calling All Young Volunteers! 
Children ages 5 and older who are willing to volunteer their time and talents are invited to help library staff prepare and assemble trick-or-treat bags for upcoming storytimes, and have fun with other projects as well. By volunteering their service, children can learn to help their community.

Thursday, Oct. 29 · 10:30 a.m.
Toddler Trick-or-Treat Storytime
Toddlers are invited to wear their non-scary costumes for a gentle Halloween storytime followed by an in-library trick-or-treat parade.

Friday, Oct. 30 · 10:30 a.m. 
Preschool Trick-or-Treat Storytime
Preschoolers are invited to wear their non-scary costumes for a gentle Halloween storytime followed by an in-library trick-or-treat parade.

Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Call the library at 875-6833 as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed for these programs.
