Maui Now ‘Ohana: Prenatal Yoga Classes
Maui Now’s Malika Dudley explores prenatal yoga with certified prenatal yoga instructor, Jill Perez, at Maui Lani Physicians and Surgeons in Kahului. See video below for the full interview which explores questions like; “What are the benefits of prenatal yoga?” “Can I continue taking a “regular” yoga class when I’m pregnant?” “What are some modifications that I need to make?” “When do I need to stop lying on my belly?” “Can I do yoga throughout my pregnancy?” and more.
Jill Perez describes her prenatal yoga class as “A fluid, instinctual yoga practice designed to deepen trust in your capacities for birth and motherhood. This class will ease tensions common in pregnancy, and strengthen your body, mind, heart, and sense of support for this amazing time in your life. You will be guided through breath-work and centering, vigorous asanas, sounding, and relaxation. Be prepared to share laughter and challenges in a one of a kind community of women.” The classes are open to women at all levels and stages of pregnancy.
