Zulueta and Belmonte to Lead Maui Filipino Chamber in 2016
The new board members and officers for the Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce have been selected for 2016.
The new president is Kit Zulueta, who currently works as the communication director for the Maui County Council.
The new vice president is Jake Belmonte, a chef instructor at University of Hawaiʻi Maui College’s Culinary Academy and a proprietor of Maui Lifestyle Cuisine LLC.
The chamber and its foundation have year-long community events such as business-related workshops, a leadership awards banquet, and an annual scholarship golf tournament and festival. Its mission is to strengthen the position of the growing number of Filipino businesses and professionals on Maui.

“I look forward to sharing ideas and my talents to give back to the community in this capacity,” Zulueta said in a board announcement. “It’s a lot of pressure but I see it as an opportunity to make a difference.”
The 2016 officers-elect will formally take oath at the chamber’s holiday party on Dec. 10. 5:30 p.m. at the Nahele Ballroom of The Kalihi Golf Course in Wailuku. Dinner is $50 and guests may RSVP to (808) 741-9758 or email [email protected].
