A $1,000 donation from Young Brothers, Limited on Maui will be used to cool preschools at Doris Todd Christian Academy.

The donation will be included in the school’s fundraising campaign for air conditioning units at the campus’ preschool classrooms.

School representatives say the preschool classrooms are at the bottom of the school property, where air flow is blocked by other classrooms and there are no trees to shade the buildings.

“This project is imperative to keeping the young children in the school from overheating or experiencing heat stroke,” school representatives said. “It will provide a better learning environment, and classrooms that promote health and safety.”

Young Brothers has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to over 900 non-profit organizations since 2001 through its gift-giving program.

The school continues fundraising efforts for the air conditioning units.  To contribute, interested individuals or companies can contact the school at (808) 579.9237 or visit the school’s website to make a secure online donation.
