High Surf Advisory Posted for NW, SW Holds

A High Surf Advisory is posted for north and west shores of Molokai and the north shore of Maui through 6 p.m. Monday.
A Small Craft Advisory is posted for Maui County windward waters and most channels.

Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are double overhead and up to 15 foot faces expected for the best exposed shores.
West: Wrap from a northwest swell continues. Out of the south-southwest wave heights around waist/chest high with sets running shoulder/head high.
South: Wave heights are waist/chest high today out of the southwest with shoulder/head high sets at the best breaks. Northwest wrap will filter into some spots.
Our current northwest swell is fading today with a reinforcement filling in late Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday into early Thursday another solid swell is due in.
Trade swell is expected to remain pretty small at waist/chest high or less.
Our current south-southwest swell is expected to continue into Monday. Tuesday the swell is expected to ease.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
