Staff Shortage Affects Refuse Pickups in Haʻikū, Pāʻia

Haʻikū/Pāʻia trash route missed. Maui Now graphic.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that due to a staff shortage, a residential refuse collection route in the Haʻikū and Pāʻia areas was not picked up today, Feb. 2, 2016.

All missed pickups are expected to be completed tomorrow, Feb. 3, 2016.

Affected areas in Haʻikū/Pāʻia include:

Haʻikū Road;
Kahiko Street;
Kahua Place;
Kokomo Road;
Kuanana Street;
North and Soout Laelua Place;
Lilikoʻi Road;
Pili Loko Street;
Waipua Street;
and all surrounding streets.

Personnel with the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and thanked residents in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
