The Realtors Association of Maui held its 4th Annual RAM ‘s Got Talent fundraiser for the organization’s Maui Presidential Scholarship Fund and Maui Onstage at the Historic ʻĪao Theater in Wailuku over the weekend. The event, which showcased the talents of RAM members, was held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016.
Talent contest winners at this year’s event included: Celine Neilsen, singer, first place; Chris Bakeman, comedy, second place; and Brendan O’Colmain, “Lounge” singer, third place.
Since the scholarship inception in 1989, $519,000 has been awarded to Maui County high school graduating seniors.
In 2015, a total of 41 college scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each, were awarded to graduating Maui country high school seniors. The funds raised during the weekend event are still being tallied, but the organization gave out $41,000 in scholarships last year and are hoping to beat that this year. Last year’s RAM’s Got Talent event raised $20,000 of the total funds awarded.
