Manpower shortage, Makawao. Maui Now image.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, today announced that due to a staff shortage, a residential refuse collection route in the Makawao area was not picked up today.

All missed pickups are expected to be completed tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016.

Affected areas in Makawao include: Kahakapao Road, Olinda Road, Piʻiholo Road and all surrounding streets.

Representatives with the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation.
