Visitor Airlifted From Honolua, Injured in Fall

A 74-year-old female visitor was airlifted after sustaining injuries in a fall during a hike near Honolua Bay on Sunday morning.

The woman suffered various injuries in the fall and was lifted to a nearby parking area, and transported by Medics to the hospital in stable condition, according to fire officials.

The incident was reported at 10:19 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2016, in an area just south of Honolua.

Fire officials say the woman was in the area with her family when she slipped and required medical assistance.

Crews responding to the scene included Rescue 10 from Kahului and Engine 11 from Napili.
