From their first hit in 1974 and straight on through the pop-filled ’80s, Hall and Oates’ signature mix of soul, pop and rock has earned them a tremendous following, continued musical influence on a new generation of younger musicians and the distinction of selling more albums than any other duo in music history.

Their musical partnership began in the ’70s, when the two friends met at college and discovered they had similar musical tastes. Together they produced 10 No. 1 records and their 21 albums are studded with over 20 Top 40 hits, including favorites such as Rich Girl (also No. 1 R&B), Kiss on My List, Private Eyes, I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do) (also No. 1 R&B), Maneater, Out of Touch, Sara Smile, One on One, You Make My Dreams, Say It Isn’t So and Method of Modern Love.

Hall and Oates have received numerous awards, Grammy nominations, the BMI Icon Award for lifetime achievement in songwriting and have taken their rightful place in the annals of contemporary music with the duo’s induction into the American Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
