Hyatt Supports Initiatives With Sustainability Tour
Hyatt Regency Maui recently launched a sustainability tour for guests in which they can learn about eco-initiatives at the resort.
The self-guided tour takes guests on a walking tour throughout the resort, featuring educational placards at each of the eight locations.
After becoming Hawai‘i’s first LEED EBOM Silver resort in 2014 following significant sustainability upgrades, the resort continued to implement sustainable programs, including the addition of the state’s largest hotel photovoltaic solar panel system.
The self-guided tour, which begins in the Atrium Lobby, features eight signs around the property to educate guests, visitors and associates about the sustainability efforts made in relation to food and food waste, water, materials and recycling, renewable energy and energy efficiency, ocean and landscape, indoor air quality, and green cleaning.
Hyatt Regency Maui has recently received recognition for its sustainability initiatives, including the Hawai‘i Green Business Program Award, the Best Eco/Green Hotel Smart Stars Award by Successful Meetings and the Resort Energy Ventures Sustainability Award.
