New Maui Gastropub Open in The Shops at Wailea
Maui now has its own gastropub, known as The Pint & Cork! The eatery opened on Monday, June 13, 2016 at The Shops at Wailea.
The Pint & Cork is aiming to be the quintessential place to find a classic chargrilled burger, an ahi sandwich and mac and cheese made with gruyere and black truffle, all on one menu. Leaders are defining it as ‘elevated comfort cuisine’ featuring local ingredients, small- production brews, wine and innovative libations.
“Our team is extremely passionate about what we do. The menu is uncomplicated and executed beautifully with a Hawaiian twist, of course,” says Executive Chef Maka Kwon.
Inside the gastropub, traditional details are mixed with contemporary elements. The Pint & Cork showcases a redwood wall constructed of reclaimed wood from Maui’s historic redwood flume in Waikamoi rainforest and a 40-feet soapstone bar with leather barstools, trimmed in upholstery studs. The warm lighting dangling from the high ceiling gives the exposed brick treatment on the wall a speakeasy vibe, reminiscent of the prohibition cellar bars.
The beverage menu also heralds a speakeasy feel with drink names such as The Cat’s Pajamas and Smoke and Mirrors.
“We are excited to welcome The Pint & Cork to The Shops at Wailea,” said Brian Yano, General Manager for The Shops at Wailea. “It will be a great neighborhood gathering place for local friends and families and a unique dining destination for travelers.”
