Assistance Program Ready to Help HC&S Workers

The A Hui Hou Fund has been set up to provide HC&S displaced workers with emergency assistance.

The A Hui Hou Fund was developed by a group of concerned citizens, led by Alice Lee, in partnership with Maui United Way.

Maui United Way is actively accepting contribution for this fund, which will be distributed through The A Hui Hou Financial Assistance Program, specifically providing funding for rental, mortgage, utilities and educational needs.

MUW is actively accepting applications for assistance with the A Hui Hou Financial Assistance Program through July 31, 2017.

In order to be eligible for this program, applicants must be former employee of HC&S, displaced as of Jan. 1, 2016, or anytime thereafter.

Applicants are eligible to receive funding two times over a one-year period.

Applications are available at www.mauiunitedway.org or at Maui United Way’s office at 270 Ho‘okahi St., Ste. 301, in Wailuku.

Applications can be submitted by mail to Maui United Way’s office or by emailed to [email protected].

Based on the type of financial assistance needed, additional forms and identification may need to be submitted.

Applications are due on the last business day of every month. All completed applications and forms turned in at this time will be reviewed by a volunteer allocation committee the following week. If approved, check disbursements will be provided within the second week of each month.

In addition, there several other financial assistance programs available to help anyone in need.
