Governor Neil Abercrombie today appointed of Georgette “Jo” Jordan to represent Waianae as the State Representative for House District 45. Jordon fills the seat left vacant by Maile Shimabukuro who was appointed to the district’s State Senate seat last month. Shimabukuro filled the vacancy, created by the departure of Colleen Hanabusa who won election to Congress in November.

The appointment of Jordan, comes as the Hawaii State Legislature officially begins its 26th session.

“Jo Jordan has spent much of her life working on making improvements on the Waianae Coast and will continue to be a great public servant,” said Gov. Abercrombie upon announcing the appointment today.
