Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be around waist/chest/head high for spots catching the fading Celia generated swell.
West: Surf is waist/chest high today with breaks blocked by other islands in the ankle/waist high range. The best breaks could get up to waist/chest high with some breaks getting up to shoulder high.
South: Surf is waist/chest high today. The best breaks could get up to shoulder high on the sets.
Our current south-southwest swell is forecast to hold through Tuesday morning before slowly fading. We expect our next SSW to fill in Wednesday and Thursday.
Quiet in the North Pacific at this time.
East swell from tropical system Celia is expected to quickly fade over the next few days. Trade swell will fill in late Tuesday through Thursday. Darby is expected to start bringing swell to the islands starting Thursday. Estelle should also generate swell. Will keep an eye on the development and bring you details as they become clearer.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
