Get Ready to Rock the Hardrock Battle of the Bands

Ever since the global fascination with American Idol, people around the world have been singing out, finding their voice, and sharing their song.

Every hopeful dreams of winning a battle of the bands competition that would catapult them into the world spotlight.

Hear ye! Hear ye! The final days are approaching for you to submit your band to just such an opportunity.

This spring, the Hard Rock Cafe is calling kids of all ages, asking “Does your band have what it takes to claim the prize at the 2011 Hard Rock Battle of the Bands?”

You can win the opportunity to perform live at one of this summer’s most anticipated festivals in London’s Hyde Park,. The winners of the competition will be flown to London, put up in a hotel, and given an opening slot for a (yet to be announced) major headliner at the 2011 Hard Rock Calling Festival, June 24–26th.

Past headliners have included Pearl Jam, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, The Killers, and Bruce Springsteen, among others.

Submit your entry of two original songs by January 25th to enter this competition that will be distilling submissions from 74 cities around the world. The Maui entries will be pooled into one of four international categories, and narrowed down by a panel of judges.

The Maui Hardrock winner will be awarded $500 and offered the opportunity to open for a major touring act visiting the island, in addition to being entered in Regional Finals.

Battle dates at Hard Rock Maui are on the following Fridays: February 4th, 11th and 18th. The grand finale takes place on Friday March 4.

The first online regional judging period will be from April 12th through April 25th, where the original song video of each regional finalist band will be posted on the Website for viewing and for judging by visitors to the website.

The second judging period of the finalists will run from April 28 until May 5, during which period the original song video
of each grand prize winnnig band will be posted on www.hardrock.com for viewing and for judging by online judges.

During the month of May, voters from around the world will rank the remaining contestants Hardrock website, to further weed out contestants into a final batch of 40 bands.

The final 4 bands will be announced but only 4 bands will win the ultimate prize and perform in London at Hard Rock Calling.

The band with the most fan votes will play the main stage, and the 3 runners up will perform on a side stage.

To enter your band’s music, download the entry form or pick one up at the Maui Hard Rock Cafe at 900 Front St in Lahaina. Fill out an entry form and deliver it back to the Cafe, along with a bio and sample of your music.
