Maui Crime, July 24–30: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

maui-crime-log-01 (1)Maui police responded to 18 burglaries, 18 vehicle thefts, and 11 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between July 24 and 30, 2016.

The number of vehicle thefts was up with 18 incidents reported compared to the 13 incidents reports a week earlier. The incidents were reported in Ha‘ikū, Kaanapali, Kahului, Kīhei, Lānʻai, Māʻalaea, Makawao, Nāpili, Pukalani, and Wailuku.

Burglary incidents were down to 18 from the 20 incidents reported the week before.

Vehicle break-ins were down to 11 from 20 incidents reported the week before.

The greatest number was in Wailuku with three incidents reported over seven days.

  • 27-Jul-16 2:50 p.m.: 3445 L Honoapiʻilani Rd at Aston Kāʻanapali Shores Resorts. Burglary, residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului:

  • 24-Jul-16 1:29 p.m.: Koiula Ln.  Burglary, residential, forced entry.
  • 29-Jul-16 3:37 p.m.: 300 block of Ala Makani St. Burglary, non-residential, forced entry.
