Maui Pools, Parks Facilities to Close for Employee Training

The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation announced a series of partial closures of pools, recreation offices and permit offices for department-wide trainings that will be held in each district. Due to the expected weather impacts of Hurricanes Madeline and Lester, closures may be enacted for either weather or training purposes. The closures, by district, are scheduled as follows:

East Maui Closures:
Closure Date: Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016
Offices closed 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Pools closed 10:00 a.m. – noon
1) East Maui District Recreation and Permit Office at the Eddie Tam Memorial Complex
2) All pools at the Pukalani Aquatic Complex

Central Maui Closures:
Closure Date: Friday, Sept. 2, 2016
Offices closed 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Pools closed 10:00 a.m. – noon
1) Recreation, Aquatics and Administration Offices at the War Memorial Complex
2) DPR Permit Office at the War Memorial Complex
3) PALS Office at the Kahului Community Complex
4) Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool at the War Memorial Complex
5) Coach Spencer Shiraishi Memorial (Kahului) Pool
6) Kokua Pool
7) All pools (Old & New) at the Wailuku Pool Complex

Permit Offices Closure:
1) All District Permit Offices will be closed Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Molokai Closures:
Closure Date: Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016
Offices closed 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Pools closed all day
1) Molokai District Recreation and Permit Offices at the Mitchell Pauole Complex
2) Cooke Memorial Pool at the Mitchell Pauole Complex

West Maui Closures:
Closure Date: Friday, Sept. 16, 2016
Offices closed 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Pools closed 10:00 a.m. – noon
1) West Maui District Recreation and Permit Offices at the Lahaina Civic Complex
2) All pools at the Lahaina Aquatic Complex

South Maui Closures:
Closure Date: Monday, Sept. 19, 2016
Offices closed 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Pools closed 10:00 a.m. – noon
1) South Maui District Recreation and Permit Offices at the Kihei Community Complex
2) All pools at the Kihei Aquatic Complex

The training sessions will help the department continue to work as a cohesive unit by providing an overview for all staff on how each division and section within the department contributes to DPR’s overall vision.
