Native Hawaiian Program Hosts College Bound Workshop

Na Pua No’eau-Maui, the center for gifted and talented Native Hawaiian children, hosts a College Bound event this Sunday for students in grades K through 12th. The event, also known as College Goal Sunday, gives students a glimpse into careers and professions of interest, and provides guidance on educational funding.
The workshops run from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the University of Hawaii Maui College campus, at the Ka’aike Building. Students should apply in advance by calling 984-3364 by January 26, 2011.
The schedule of events is as follows:
- Grades K-5: 12-12:15 p.m. Check-in and registration; 12:15-12:20 p.m. Introductions; 12:20-3:25 Various activities.
- Grades 6-8: (should wear sneakers and socks for outdoor activities) 12-12:15 p.m. Check-in and registration; 12:15-12:20 p.m. Introductions; 12:20-3:25 p.m. Activity/Games/Ownership.
- Grades 9-11: 12-12:15 p.m. Check-in and registration; 12:15-12:20 p.m. Introductions; 12:20-1:20 p.m. College 101; 1:25-2:20 p.m. College 102; 2:25-3:25 p.m. Now What
